"Don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions” stifles organizational problem solving and makes leaders appear unapproachable. Here are a few prudent alternatives. Notice these come in the form of questions from leader to teammate:
—What challenges or opportunities do you need help with right now?
—What opportunities become available if we provide additional resources?
—What problems are consuming your attention and capacity?
